Take the Next Step, Mama!

by | Dec 20, 2021 | Business

This is going to be more of an inspirational-from-the-heart blog post. It’s not one of those “5 Steps on How to Take the Next Step” posts. I’m not going to write out a list of things to do. I’m not going to approach this tutorial style. What I’m going to do is peel back the curtain a bit and share with you what the last few years of MOMpire have looked like.

Honestly… I debated sharing this… but the feedback I’ve gotten consistently brings me to my knees in complete gratitude. It reminds me that I’m on the right track. That my passion makes the difference. That my efforts matter.

How Passion Drove Me to Take the Next Step in Business

You see, almost 6 years ago, I started a little networking group for moms to do business together. Through the years, I’ve held events, coached privately, and failed more than once to show up and serve the way I wanted to. But, the flame never burned out… dimmed, maybe… but never to smoke. I’ve always known from day one that I was meant to do something amazing in this space.

But, anyone who knows entrepreneurship, knows that most of us are here because of a bigger calling to show up and serve in a way that only we can. And the journey is far from linear.

If you’ve been to any MOMpire event in the last year, you’ll know that I reference FROZEN II a lot. My daughter is obsessed with it. And I don’t blame her. I’m always learning new important messages in that movie…and my favorite one is to “do the next right thing.”

And even though it’s looked different from time to time, my passion for MOMpire has always driven me to take the next step.

Pivoting in the Heart of the Pandemic

Well, I’m a people person. I need people. The pandemic was hard on my soul. I missed the hugs, and the virtual engagements I’d be invited to just didn’t hold that closeness and intimacy that I’ve always loved about in-person events.

And I missed “my people.” The moms, who during this season, had even more demands on them than ever before. I missed THEM. And connecting with them became harder than ever.

So, I went back to the drawing board, reimagined what I could do, and reminded myself that as much as I serve others, if I created something that served me too, I knew it would be a success.

And so I built it, and I shared it… and they came! (cue field of dreams, y’all!)

In just a few short months, the founding mamas in The MOMpire Network had established deep, meaningful, motivating relationships with each other and I’m watching money change hands. I’m watching moms hire each other, do business together, and send referrals… but more than that… I’m watching lifetime friendships blossom.

When You Take the Next Step, You Create a Ripple Effect

The founding members of this network helped shape what became almost 6 months of connections, community calls, and fun time. And then we expanded…we opened up the doors. And guess what happened? Mamas keep on coming.

Yes, I wanted something that I knew would bring me joy, and this was the “next right thing” for ME. But, I knew that if I was aligned with my life vision and dreams, it would create a ripple effect…and that’s what it has done (and is still doing).

Because when testimonials like this pop up in the network…I can’t help but be so humbled and so grateful:

You see, we’re not just connecting for the sake of chit-chat… we’re connecting on deep and meaningful levels in both business and life!

So Take the Next Step, Mama!

It’s not easy to launch and scale and business that matters to your soul. It’s not always a smooth journey. There are times that we won’t feel like it, times where we might be feeling overwhelmed, times that things are going great and we’re at the peak of the mountain.

But I want to encourage you…take the next step. Because a journey can’t be taken if we’re standing still.
